[PAST EVENT] Battle of Monterey

Course Description:

2018 marks the bicentennial of the attack on Monterey, then the capital of Spanish Alta California, by the revolutionary Argentine privateer Hippolyte Bouchard. In celebration, there will be re-enactments of the event as well as other opportunities to experience life in the Spanish era in Monterey and its transition to independence. Come hear about this singular event in our history—the only land-sea battle ever fought on the Pacific coast of the United States.
