Course Description:

Indigenous Californians used the native flora for food, fiber, medicine and many other things in their daily lives. Contemporary foragers use this traditional knowledge to identify and utilize plants found from shoreline to mountain peaks. Join ecologist Nikki Nedeff and learn about some of the most common native food plants and where they can be found in and around the Monterey area.

Facilitator:

Nikki Nedeff, local ecologist, is a lecturer at Cal State Monterey Bay where she teaches courses on California plant communities and plant taxonomy, with an emphasis on the field identification of plants.
