Course Description:

With the September release of Ken Burns's 18- hour documentary, attention is again focused on the Vietnam War. Noted historian David Anderson examines the background and origins of the conflict, the course and conduct of the war, and the relationship between Vietnam and the U.S. today.

Facilitator:

David Anderson, PhD is Professor of History Emeritus at Cal State Monterey Bay and senior lecturer of national security affairs at the Naval Postgraduate School. He is the author or editor of 11 books, including The Columbia History of the Vietnam War. He is past president of the Society for Historians of American Foreign Relations and a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War.
