Course Description:

Join us for a day exploring the high desert of the Inner Coast Range in the Panoche Valley of San Benito County. The area has been long prized for the rich variety of wildlife present, including rare or endangered species. We’ll visit a unique wintering colony of Long-eared Owls, plus search for Ferruginous and Rough-legged Hawks, Merlin and Prairie Falcons, and such perching birds as Loggerhead Shrikes, Mountain Bluebirds and Horned Larks. Mountain Plovers, Greater Roadrunner and coyote are also in the vicinity.
