Course Description:

Back by popular request, this offering has been expanded to provide a more in-depth look at
eyewitness memory. Eyewitness memory is a person’s recollection of an event that was experienced. It’s an important tool in the prosecution of criminals, but research has shown that it can be flawed, leading to misidentifications. This two-part course examines what influences eyewitness memory and then delves into different methods to improve it. Topics to be covered include memory malleability, eyewitness memory and confidence level, the effects of repeated questioning, false memory and the variables that cause it, and memory improvement techniques.
