Course Description:

“On the Moonlit Path”

how to separate
moonlight from the sea, or us
from our shadows

Each class will begin with the study of haiku masters, both classical (Basho, Buson, Issa and Shiki) and contemporary (Richard Wright, Amy Lowell, Robert Hass, Anselm Hollo, Edward Hirsch, and others).

Then, through writing exercises that provide starting points, the class will explore how the writing of haiku can set us “on the moonlit path.” Open to readers and writers of all levels of experience with haiku.
