[Past Event] Flying Cars: From Science Fiction to Reality

Course Description:

Might we all be flying to work one day? The flying cars that have graced science fiction and comic books for decades are getting closer to reality due to the technological overlap with driverless cars. They're called Pilotless Battery-Powered Electric VTOL aircraft. "Battery-powered" implies short range -- less than 100 miles. "Electric" means throwing away decades of safe flight with pistons and jets. "VTOL Aircraft" suggests flying cars.

Is the necessary development being done to bring these aircraft to reality? Does a market exist? The answer is: Yes! We'll learn about several applications for this new technology.
