[Past Event] Steinbeck: The Untold Stories

Course Description:

Steve Hauk will discuss his latest work "Steinbeck: The Untold Stories" and Lisa Ledin of KAZU will read selections from the book. The stories – fiction but true at their core – include Steinbeck’s need to arm himself for self protection, and his relationships with poets, artists, and friends and foes from his early childhood to his later years in New York. The central theme is the heavy price Steinbeck paid to write what he felt was important. The "Steinbeck Review" recently wrote that Hauk’s book “enters the world of artistic endeavor with the power to move and captivate readers for all time.”
