Course Description:

The atmosphere plays a key role in the overall distribution of incoming solar energy, resulting in complex worldwide weather patterns. It also has an enormous impact on our oceans including circulation patterns around the globe. Join us for an introduction to the fascinating science behind weather and oceanography as we explore numerous topics including seasonal change, air pressure, temperature and dew point, wind patterns and effects, fog formation, critical water distribution on earth, and coastal upwelling that significantly influences the health of our Monterey Bay ecosystem.
