Course Description:

What’s a Saturday morning for—relaxing in bed, taking a run or grocery shopping? Sure. But if one out of four Saturdays a month could be devoted to your imaginative life, you just might like that Saturday best of all. We begin with a short writing activity to get warmed up and then proceed to something longer. Inspiration comes from poets such as Pablo Neruda and Mary Oliver, writers such as Jo Baker and Annie Dillard. We write about the past and the future, what’s been lost and what is found, our joys and sorrows—all while receiving encouragement and careful listening from Patrice and fellow participants.

Note: Seats for this course are coveted. Please check your calendar to ensure you can attend all 4 sessions before enrolling.

Facilitator:

When Patrice Vecchione, the author of several books, having recently turned 60, looked back at her life, she decided that for as much as the books she’s written matter to her, if she is someday to be remembered for anything, it will be her teaching. In addition to being a writer and artist, Patrice is a nature-walker. Much of her recent book Step into Nature was written while walking at Jacks Peak.
