Course Description:

Covid-19 landed a ferocious blow in 2020, wreaking havoc on American society and the economy. In this two-session course, we'll trace the timeline of medical cases and investigate the impact on families and the economy. Patterns of unemployment and partial recovery will be examined, as well as the effect on small businesses, key industries and financial markets. The response of the Federal Government and its agencies, state and local governments and the budgetary status will also be explored, along with the efficacy of stimulus programs. We'll also compare the U.S. response to that in other nations.
