Course Description:

California government and politics continue to fascinate the nation, the state and our local communities. As we enter the second year of the 2019-20 session, the governor, in tandem with the Democratic controlled legislature, will be addressing climate change, affordable housing, education, and other pressing issues.

Fred Keeley, former Speaker pro Tempore of the California Assembly, will provide an insightful, up-to-the-minute briefing of these policy challenges and political events.

Fred Keeley has held elected office in the Monterey Bay area for 24 years. He is on faculty at the Panetta Institute and also teaches in the graduate program of Public Administration at San Jose State University.
