Course Description:

Mar. 4 - "How Economists Helped End the Draft": An exciting story, which Dr. Henderson began following at age 18, was how economists, starting in the mid-1960s, made an economic case for ending conscription. In this session, he will examine their arguments and analysis, and also discuss the role many of them played on President Nixon’s commission on the all-volunteer force. He'll also touch on his own role in opposing Senator Sam Nunn’s attempt to reintroduce the draft in 1979.

Mar. 11 - "The Economic Policies of the New Administration and the New Congress": At this point, we don’t know what economic policies President Trump and Congress will focus their attention on. But by the early spring, their areas of focus will be much more clear. Dr. Henderson considers the main four to six policies and pinpoints the policies that are not being discussed but should be.
