Jazz and the Brandenburg Concertos (Closed)

Course Description:

Three hundred years ago, Bach began writing the "Brandenburg Concertos," a journey he would finish two years later. At the same time, Bach was composing "The Well-Tempered Clavier." These two works changed the course of music forever, and both appear on the Golden Record astride the Voyager spacecrafts. Join us as we examine the major influence these and other works by Back have had on countless jazz musicians and croups including Oscar Peterson, Dave Brubeck, Wynton Marsalis, Charlie Parker, Bobby McFerrin, Christian McBride, Tiempo Libre, Sones de Mexico Ensemble Chicago, the Brandenburg 300 Project, and many more.
