Course Description:

Numerous architects, artists and writers, such as Mark Mills, Edward Weston and Henry Miller elected to settle in the Monterey Bay area and contribute to their respective fields from this region. The middle of the 20th century was a time of freedom of expression and experimentation where architects acted without fear, and Monterey Bay had a significant number of forward thinkers. This course surveys the extraordinary, yet underrecognized, mid-century architectural legacy of greater Monterey in its full array of design expressions.
