Course Description:

Igor Stravinsky is well known for his ballet score "The Rite of Spring" but he composed other groundbreaking music rarely heard today. Claude Debussy is beloved for his original and innovative style that came to be known as Impressionism and many of his lesser known works paved the way for Modernism in music. We'll listen and discuss music by these and other well-known 20th century composers whose rich and varied music opened new horizons in our musical landscape.

Location

Course will be presented live at CSUMB Ryan Ranch (8 Upper Ragsdale Road, Monterey) and will NOT be recorded or available for viewing later. To keep everyone safe, seats are limited.

Facilitator:

Rick Yramategui is a UCC minister, teacher, composer, and pianist. He teaches ragtime for the Road Scholar program at Hidden Valley Music Seminars. Rick has been privileged to participate in the Oregon Bach Festival Composers Symposium and the European American Musical Alliance in Paris, France.
