Course Description:

Since its inception, jazz has been, and continues to be, a male-dominated field. However, there have always been women, most of them overlooked, who have made significant contributions to the art form. Join us as we explore the music and careers of four female masters who have helped shape the sound of contemporary jazz: composer and arranger Maria Schneider, pianist and composer Renee Rosnes, pianist and singer Eliane Elias, and drummer and bandleader Terri Lyne Carrington.
