Course Description:

A handful of artists transcend their roles as brilliant creators and reach the status of pop icon. In this four-part course, we'll focus on four musical legends who earned and maintained icon status in the 1970s and 1980s: Elton John, Dionne Warwick, Stevie Nicks, and Sting. We'll talk about the music and the performers, using audio and video examples to highlight their vast influence on the recording arts.

Todd Samra, D.A., earned his Doctor of Arts at Ball State University. Beyond his work as a musicologist, he is active as a voice and piano teacher, and as a conductor, performer, accompanist, and speaker.
