Rachmaninoff vs. Prokofiev

Course Description:

The legendary Russian composers Sergei Prokofiev and Sergei Rachmaninoff spring back to life during four amazing dual sessions that will compare the musical languages of two fo the most enduring musicians from the first half of the 20th century. Dr. Todd Samra leads us through this illuminating examination of these musical heavyweights. Large scale works from the two will be compared, as well as piano literature and other genres, with an emphasis on concertized and symphonic examples.
