Course Description:

Misrepresentations of individuals in their 50s and beyond pervade the American media, with a surplus of caricatures from "micromanaging moms" to "daffy dads" and "grumpy grandparents." This course will challenge the "same old-same old" with four thought-provoking and discussion-worthy movies that aspire to lead us toward a more realistic and inspirational portrait of youth, aging and maturity, beautifully rendered on film. Films will include "20th Century Women" (2016; "Out Stealing Horses" (2017); "The Wife" (2017); and, "Driveways" (2019). Participants are to independently view each film prior to class.

Note: Each participant will receive a syllabus with sources for viewing each film.

Tuition: $35.00
