Robert Louis Stevenson (Closed)

Course Description:

Robert Louis Stevenson's sojourn of the heart took him thousands of miles - across ocean and plains, through deserts and steep Sierra river gorges - to his Monterey destination. There, within a timeless setting of cypress, pine and sea, he began his literary journey to immortality. In a program based on his new essay and exhibition in the Monterey Conference Center Alvarado Gallery, John Sanders reconstructs the Monterey of old that stirred Stevenson's brilliant imagination and led to his seminal essay, "The Old Pacific Capital".
