Course Description:

The other morning a friend and I were out for breakfast, and our meals took forever to come. But I didn't mind because the conversation had my attention. We listened closely to each other, and I found myself saying things that I didn't know I had to say—details and concerns that without her would have gone unspoken otherwise, unless, of course, I'd been writing. And that made me think about expressive writing in a new way; it's a way to be friends with oneself. When we come together each month and write in community, we get the best of both kinds of connections. Each time, I share poetry and prose on given themes, and we write. The session concludes with a chance for those who wish to read aloud something they've just written. Join us, won't you?
