Course Description:Paul McCartney once said, "I love to hear a choir. I love the humanity . . . to see the faces of real people devoting themselves to a piece of music." Choral music dates back to ancient times when tribal communities would come together to perform musical rituals. Harmonies and rhythms have evolved for centuries creating numerous forms of choral singing. But do you know the difference between a mezzo-soprano and a contralto? How about a bass from a baritone? A capella singing vs vocal jazz quartets? Join us as we explore what makes choral music an "a-choired taste." |
