Course Description:Over the past decade, Alexander Hamilton has experienced a well-deserved revival. Often forced to take a back seat to other Founding Fathers, his vision of America as an economic powerhouse with an energetic government as its engine found many followers. Thomas Jefferson articulated a different vision from Hamilton's, promoting an agrarian democracy built upon geographic expansion. The two fought bitterly. We will delve into the beliefs of the two men and examine how their rivalry shaped America. |
