Course Description:It is an irony of the 21st century that the ocean on which so much of human society depends remains fundamentally inaccessible to many communities. Dr. James Lindholm's decades-long effort to "render the water column transparent" has recently been transformed by the increased accessibility of virtual reality (VR). Advances in immersive VR technology now make it possible for us to not only expose stakeholders to the wonders of the undersea world, but more importantly, to show them how scientific research is conducted underwater. Come learn about the Immersive VR Dive Program and take your own "dives" to exotic locales around the world. |
