Course Description:

By popular demand, we’ve added an afternoon session from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. Same great offering, now with a new time to join us.

Ready to explore the beauty and diversity of birds on the Central Coast? This workshop combines an online presentation with a field trip to the Elkhorn Slough Reserve. You'll learn the Four Keys to Bird Identification, how to use binoculars and field guides, and explore online resources like the birding app Merlin by the Cornell Lab of Ornithology. The field trip is for all levels of birders and includes a 1-2 mile walk within the reserve, allowing you to practice new skills among shorebirds, raptors, and songbirds.
