Course Description:Referring to memories, observations, dreams, and more, writer Tegan Bennett Daylight said, "You’ve got pockets and pockets full of these pebbles. They never go away. They just stay with you." If you sit down with a small group and reach into those pockets, you might be surprised to find that what you once thought were dusty pebbles are actually gems—the jewels of memory. Through writing, you may rediscover experiences you thought you'd forgotten, just waiting for you to reach inside. Join us as we read and discuss various types of memoirs—childhood, portrait, family, professional, thematic, and epistolary. We'll focus on small moments, pivotal events, and people in our lives. Everyone will be invited to refine and develop one piece to read aloud at our final session. |
