Course Description:Travel 2,000 years along the ancient Silk Road without leaving the classroom. This engaging two-session course explores the dazzling musical crossroads where China, Persia, Central Asia, India, the Arab world, and even medieval Europe met and exchanged ideas, instruments and melodies. Through guided listening, live demonstrations, videos, and lively discussion, you'll discover how the Persian Divaan influenced Chinese pipa, how the Arab oud shaped European lutes, and how nomadic horse-head fiddles still echo in modern Mongolia.
