Course Description:For millennia, women have stitched by hand, their stories woven into the history of clothing and art. In this course, we'll explore hand-stitching from around the world, including works by contemporary artists, and the materials that bring these creations to life. We'll consider how hand-stitching has quietly challenged expectations, its connections to mental and emotional well-being, and how working with needle, thread or yarn can express what words cannot. Participants will begin two to three hand-stitched projects; a $25 materials fee applies. |
