*New Summer 2026*: Charles Frazier’s "Cold Mountain" with Dr. Renee Curry | Livestream Zoom

Course Description:

Charles Frazier’s first novel, "Cold Mountain" (1997), won the National Book Award for Fiction. An historical novel drawn from Frazier’s own family stories about the end of the Civil War and a devastated South, the book addresses numerous myths surrounding ideas of freedom in America as the main characters—Inman, Ada, and Ruby—come to terms with a new landscape, a new era, and a new country. The writing is luxurious in its description, a style that asks us to slow down and immerse ourselves in this world. Please join Dr. Curry for a slow summer reading of this well-regarded novel.
