Course Description:Water. It nourishes, it drowns, it runs, it falls, it accounts for about 60% of our bodies. It shapes canyons and civilizations. Every major city in the world is built on it, depends on it, trades and travels on it. The river Styx, the Nile, the Seine, the Mississippi, the Yangtze, Yosemite Falls, Niagara, Victoria, Hudson Bay, Monterey Bay. Water inspires explorers, innovators, lovers, and artists! It can be babbling, lapping, placid, murky, raging, crashing. Join us for a deep artistic dive into a substance so familiar we tend to overlook its many moods and uses. We'll drink in the artists and artworks that have succeeded in capturing its slippery essence. |
