Course Description:

Oct. 1: Deficits, Taxes, Social Security, and More Economist

David Henderson will discuss several economic issues impacting the presidential elections and the down-ticket races. These issues will include the federal budget deficits and debt, tax policy including taxes on trade, Social Security and Medicare, and industrial policy. Other issues may be added as they gain increased influence during the campaign.

Oct. 8: Immigration and Global Warming

Dr. Henderson will mainly focus on two key issues: immigration, legal and illegal, and the causes and consequences of global warming, including the various policies surrounding this planet-altering development.

David R. Henderson, Ph.D., is Professor of Economics Emeritus at the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey and a research fellow with the Hoover Institution at Stanford University. He has written for the "Wall Street Journal" and the "New York Times" among others, and has appeared on "CNN," "PBS," "MSNBC," "NPR," and the "BBC."
