Course Description:With the presidential election looming, and so much going on in the world, it is important to assess the competing visions about foreign policy that the two leading candidates are offering to the voters. In this session, the views of each will be considered and compared, both in terms of their strengths and limitations. A wide range of issue areas will be covered, from trade policy and international efforts to deal with climate change, to diplomatic initiatives that bear upon matters of war and peace throughout the world. |

John Arquilla, Ph.D., Distinguished Professor Emeritus at the Naval Postgraduate School, is an expert in special operations, unconventional warfare, and international policy. He has advised senior military leaders and Department of Defense policymakers from Operation Desert Storm to Operation Enduring Freedom. Dr. Arquilla has published 15 books and authored many widely published articles and commentaries that have informed national policy. He received his doctorate from Stanford University.
