Course Description:One thing about social movements: they had great music! Let's revisit the soundscape of the 60s–70s era labor movement, the civil rights movement, the peace, anti-war, and anti-draft movements, the women's movement, the environmental movement, and more. We'll hear some familiar songs, some obscure songs, and some songs you may not have realized were protest songs. We'll include some earlier and more contemporary songs too. Singing along will definitely be encouraged. |
