Course Description:

The Point Sur Lightstation sits 361 feet above the Pacific Ocean and is the only complete, turn-of-the-century lightstation open to the public in California. First lit in 1889, the lighthouse has remained in continuous operation for more than 130 years. Today, the Lightstation buildings are being restored through the efforts of California State Parks staff and dedicated volunteers, and Central Coast Lighthouse Keepers. Join us for an OLLI-exclusive walking tour of this historic site, led by Point Sur docents John and Carol O'Neil. The three-hour tour includes an elevation gain of approximately 360 feet and two sets of stairs, the longer with 61 steps.
