Course Description:Join us as we explore key movements that contributed to the explosive growth of country music as an industry and art form from 1950-1975. Focusing on Nashville, California and Texas, this course will take us on a regional, chronological and musical journey through the eras and places that have made country music a huge part of 20th-century American culture. The final class will feature an overview of the country song and an in-depth musical analysis of why country music is so emotional. |

Pete Elman has been a professional musician since 1963, working as a performer, composer, arranger, studio musician, recording artist, and producer. He played with the beloved San Francisco ultimate Motown band, Pride and Joy, from 1983-1991.
