Salton Sea: the Good, the Bad, the Abandoned | In Person (Ryan Ranch) (Closed)

Course Description:

Join us for an epic photographic tour of the Salton Sea, interweaving art and creativity along the way. From Joshua Tree to Anza Borrego, we'll explore many surreal locations, including the wild-spirited, "off the grid" encampments of Slab City and the nearby folk art earthwork, Salvation Mountain. We'll walk trails in Joshua Tree in search of a hidden Miner's Cabin, and view larger-than-life desert sculptures of scorpions and dinosaurs in Borrego Springs. The Salton Sea has become a new epicenter for artists creating hauntingly beautiful yet somber artworks of its fragile, ever-changing environment.
