Course Description:

In this three-session offering, you’ll be introduced to the accessible and fun form of collage and create your own self-portrait. You might make a representational portrait or something wholly metaphorical. Led by artist and writer Patrice Vecchione, the course includes a discussion of self-portraiture and an introductory slide show to start us off in creating a portrait using the most democratic of art forms. We’ll look closely at various styles, techniques and methods, and you’ll receive clear instructions on the mechanics of collaging. We’ll also read some literary nonfiction on the art of self-portraiture. The materials' fee ($25) includes the essentials—handouts, mat board, background paper, glue, and varnish. You'll receive a note in advance with the materials you'll need to provide. By the final session, you'll have a finished art piece worthy of a place on your wall.

(No Refunds on this course. $25 Materials Fee will be collected.)

Tuition: $65.00
