Course Description:Professor and historian Dustin Wright examines how people in Japan have engaged with vast cultural, economic and political changes since 1945. He'll focus on the fights over environmental concerns, anti-war protests (including anti-U.S. military base protests), economic and gender inequalities, and the ongoing struggle for life-work balance. |

Dustin Wright, Ph.D., is a historian, associate professor of Japanese Culture and Language, and chair of the Department of World Languages and Cultures at CSUMB. He is an associate director of the Okinawa Memories Initiative, director of the Global Base Studies Project, and a fellow at Rikkyo University's Research Center for Cooperative Civil Societies in Tokyo.
