Course Description:Since the pandemic, Americans have been traveling the world in great numbers. This two- lecture constitutes a kind of world cruise. The first hour addresses global trouble spots: "Strategic Waterways – Economic and Naval Choke Points." The second hour examines some of the world’s great treasures: "UNESCO World Heritage Sites," covering the criteria for this UN designation and its impact on tourism, economics and international cooperation. |

David L. Anderson, Ph.D., is Professor of History Emeritus at CSUMB and has also taught at the Naval Postgraduate School. He is a past president of the Society for Historians of American Foreign Relations. He now lectures on global history and world affairs as a resident historian for Viking Ocean Cruises.
