Course Description:

From within the ongoing climate crisis emerges an all-important question: How might organisms on Earth adapt to extremely rapid shifts in climatic conditions due to global warming? Join marine biologist Dr. Elizabeth Alter as she reveals evolutionary concepts relevant to climate change and explores the possibilities for the evolution of life in the future, with a focus on how we can bring our understanding of evolutionary processes to bear on long-term conservation planning.

Elizabeth Alter, Ph.D., is a marine evolutionary biologist, assistant professor of biology at CSUMB and a research associate at the American Museum of Natural History in New York. She received her B.A. in anthropology and biology from Yale University, and her Ph.D. in biological sciences from Stanford University.
