Course Description:

Discover the paths of artists who painted in the Monterey Bay area in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The first session of this course will focus on how the regional art colony evolved. In the second session, participants will take a virtual field trip to Carmel Beach and the Carmel Mission and experience the locations where paintings were created by Granville Redmond, Mary DeNeale Morgan, Guy Rose, William Keith, Charles Rollo Peters, E. Charlton Fortune, and Jules Tavernier.

We'll meet online via Zoom. Zoom is free and easy to use. OLLI will walk you through the steps. Prior to each Zoom meeting (class), you will receive an email with specific details on that meeting.

Facilitator:

Cynthia Wagner Weick, Ph.D., is Professor Emeritus, Management at University of the Pacific, where she authored over 30 publications. Weick has a lifelong interest in art, and recently co-authored a book on artists who painted in the Monterey Bay area in the late 19th through the mid 20th century.
