Course Description:Join us for a series of inspiring conversations with three internationally renowned artists, moderated by the inimitable Brian Taylor. We'll begin with David Ligare, a masterful contemporary realist painter whose still lifes, landscapes and figures are influenced by Greco-Roman antiquity, often depicting Central Coast terrain in the background. Next, we’ll explore the enchanted artworks of Kate Breakey, known for her large-scale, richly hand-colored photographs portraying the natural world. A native of South Australia, Kate is a prolific artist with over 110 solo exhibitions. Lastly, we’ll visit with Chris Johnson, Chair of the Photography Program at California College of the Arts. Chris studied with Ansel Adams, Imogen Cunningham and Wynn Bullock, and cocreated the “Question Bridge: Black Males” project, found in the permanent collection of the National Museum of African American History and Culture. |
