Course Description:

From Nixon to Muhammad Ali, from Crosby, Stills & Nash to punk rock and disco, from M*A*S*H to "All in the Family," popular culture historian Gary Shapiro takes us on a trip through the 1970s. Fueled by political turmoil, the fight for women's rights, the environmental movement, and continued anti-war sentiment, the 1970s produced an explosive cultural landscape, with startling shifts in music, film, television, and fashion.
