[Past Event] Preventing the Next Pandemic | MPC

Course Description:

Only a few years after the COVID-19 pandemic, experts warn that the world could face another global pandemic or an even worse biological threat. But what can we do to prevent the next crisis? National security expert Erik Dahl argues that much of the answer lies in improving our intelligence, surveillance and warning capabilities to anticipate and detect health threats. That intelligence comes from health surveillance systems as well as from intelligence agencies, but the bad news is that we are not much better prepared today to detect global health dangers than we were in 2020.
