Course Description:

Our most vivid dreams are a remarkable replication of reality, combining disparate objects, actions and perceptions into a richly detailed hallucinatory experience. The whole brain is active during dreams, from the brain stem to the cortex. But how does our brain create dreams? And why do we dream in the first place? There have been some significant recent discoveries surrounding what our brains are doing when we sleep. Dr. Chris Hasegawa takes an informative, non-technical look at how our brains work when we dream.
