William Randolph Hearst: A Staged Reading (New Date!) (Free - All Welcome)

Course Description:

William Randolph Hearst, castle builder, yellow journalist and consummate philanderer was, for many decades, a man of limitless ambition and wealth. Join us for an illuminating staged reading featuring Hearst and those who knew him best, including Phoebe Hearst, his indulgent mother; Julia Morgan, the architect of Hearst Castle; Marion Davies, his showgirl mistress; and Joseph Pulitzer, his arch enemy. This special viewing of a life performance recorded in late 2020 will be introduced by writer/director, Carol Marquart, and followed by a Q&A session with the actors. Offered in partnership with the Monterey County Theatre Alliance (MCTA).

Carol Marquart has written and performed staged readings throughout the Monterey Peninsula. Carol enjoys writing about famous and infamous persons of the twentieth century.
