Course Description:Every morning in the predawn, which is my favorite kind of darkness because it comes with the promise of light, I sit at my desk, open my notebook and write as freely as I can, while watching the day become itself. Dreams find their way onto the page; my yesterdays are taken note of, and my worries lose their stranglehold. There, on those pages, love gets expressed, peculiarities are welcomed, joy and curiosities are celebrated. Poet Lucille Clifton wrote, “Won’t you celebrate with me what I have shaped into a kind of life?” I invite you to write your morning away with me, to look closely at your life and the world, to write the words only you can write, and to celebrate the life you are shaping. |
