Course Description:

Canada has produced several remarkable song writers: Neil Young, Gordon Lightfoot, Joni Mitchell, Leonard Cohen, k.d. lang, Shania Twain, Buffy Sainte-Marie, and Bruce Cockburn, to name just a few. In this series, we will examine how Canada has generated so many brilliant songwriters and chronicle their widespread influence on American music.

Arleen Tarantino is an adjunct professor at Monterey Peninsula College where she teaches Critical Thinking and College Composition. Her current studies focus on the confluence of linguistics, postmodernism and modern science.
