Course Description:

Loss is an unavoidable human experience, but there are ways to process loss that can help in the healing process. Artist and writer Jane Edberg shows us how effective art can be when used to express grief. Grief can be drawn, danced, sung, written, and played with until it brings meaning to loss, and ultimately, meaning to life. As part of the series, Jane will also lead participants through four small projects (no special skills required): 1) Visual Dream Stories: Using imagery to create imaginative short stories, 2) Life Collage: Piecing images together to produce an expression of life after loss, 3) Woe Agent: Using clay, creating a grief character with a secret message pocket, 4) Exquisite Corpse: Not as spooky as it sounds, creating collaborative drawings accompanied by collaborative stories.
